Editors' dedication signed: John Heminge, Henry Condell. The portrait is signed: Martin· Droeshout: sculpsit· London. The words "Pericles .. Cromwel." and "Sir John .. Locrine." are bracketed together on title page. "Of the seven added plays only Pericles is now seriously considered to have any Shakespearian connection" -- Pforzheimer. "The life and death of King John" and "The life of Timon of Athens" (caption titles) begin new pagination on ²B1r and 3A1r respectively. Second p.253 misnumbered 243. The text block is a cream laid paper with an Iconard watermark, which is a crown with ruff and a cruciform directly underneath the crown. The title page has been backed with silk, a common type of repair in the late 1800s, early 1900s.
