An essay on the present state of schools in Ireland, wherein the qualifications of the several descriptions of literary teachers, as principals or assistants, with the customs, forms and terms of literary schools of every denomination, are treated of, and compared. The defects in the general system of education, and methods of initiating in essential, classical and polite literature, are pointed out. In which the utility of some attainments, and the inutility of others are considered - With an appendix, wherein the probable moral and political tendency of established National Schools is considered.
