Approximate dates based on publishers' addresses and forms of name, established from Brown, P. London publishers and printers c. 1800-1870. Applegath & Cowper conducted business on Duke Street c. 1819-20; Applegath was at that address c. 1820-26 (Brown, p. 5). However, J. Davis was on Paternoster Row from 1822 (Brown, p. 54) and J. Nisbet conducted business at 15 Castle Street 1809-1823, before moving to 21 Berners Street (Brown, p. 138).
