A report of work carried out by TNS-BMRB and the Futures Company on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions to explore perceptions of whether the proposed Single Tier system was simpler and fairer than the current system and if it offered certainty with regard to the amount that people will get that might impact financial planning for later life. It also explored views and understanding of means-testing, qualifying years, automatic enrolment, contracting-out and the transition from one scheme to another.
